LifeCourse Counseling Center was established in 1980 to provide LGB people counseling, psychotherapy, consultation and education throughout the Pioneer Valley of Western Mass. LifeCourse Counseling Center is based in Northampton, MA, serving Springfield, Brattleboro, Greenfield, Amherst and surrounding areas.
Our intention has always been to provide access to knowledgeable LGBTQ clinicians and a safe environment where diverse sexual orientations and gender identities are seen as healthy and normal. Someone coming to LifeCourse Counseling Center has always been able to see someone who is LGBTQ themselves and intimately knows the personal issues our community faces.
We also provide consultation, education, workshops and conferences (see some of our accomplishments) and work with other community organizations, helping increase mutual respect and understanding.
As the years have passed, we have grown with our community. We have proudly embraced transgender and gender queer people among the populations we serve. We are grateful to both transgender and gender queer people as they help us all broaden our identities and the limitless possibilities of who we can be
More recently, we have incorporated telephone counseling and consultation to our services, increasing accessibility. This may be a necessary or preferable form of communication for people in certain situations.
LifeCourse Counseling Center affirms all sexual orientations and gender identities and celebrates the rich diversity that exists among people of all ethnic, racial and class backgrounds.
